National Car Rental Extends Environmental Commitment with 2013 Ford Fleet
Many new vehicles at Emerald Aisle locations equipped with acclaimed Ford EcoBoost engines
TORONTO, May 22, 2012 /CNW/ - National Car Rental is enhancing its vehicle fleet offerings to business travellers with the addition of 2013 Ford vehicles featuring Ford's acclaimed EcoBoost engines. Members of National's Emerald Club will be able to choose from new 2013 Ford Edges and Explorers equipped with the environmentally friendly EcoBoost engines. The engines offer power and performance with reduced CO2 emissions, all without sacrificing efficiency.
"As the world's largest owner and operator of passenger vehicles, it is our duty to find new ways to lessen the environmental impact of our ever-expanding fleet," said Lee Broughton, director of sustainability for Enterprise Holdings, which owns and operates National Car Rental along with the Enterprise Rent-A-Car and Alamo Rent A Car brands. "Business travellers and members of our Emerald Club need vehicles that they can drive reliably and sometimes for great distances, and we are ensuring that these needs are met with a lower impact on the environment."
This announcement underscores National's continuing efforts to embrace new technologies and offer the largest fuel-efficient fleet in the industry.
"We are pleased to work with National to offer its customers a wide-range of vehicles with our EcoBoost engines," says Nick Lacasse, Product Marketing Manager for SUV/CUV at Ford Motor Company of Canada. "These cars are at the cutting edge of technology with a specific focus on fuel efficiency and environmental stewardship, something both Ford and National are passionate about."
