REGINA, Oct. 18 /CNW/ - The City of Regina is pleased to announce the National Infrastructure Summit, taking place on January 26-28, 2011 here in Regina.
The three-day event, targeted towards private sector companies, municipal, provincial and federal government administrators, political leaders, and those involved in delivering infrastructure, will feature five themes: Defining the Need, Citizen Engagement, Financing Opportunities, Program Models, and Innovation. Each theme will offer interactive sessions, with keynote speakers consisting of a mix of academia and practical leaders, who will both inform and challenge participants.
The Summit is the first organized event of its kind, in which all orders of government and the private sector are invited and encouraged to engage in discussions and interactive workshops from leaders and experts in various fields on global best practices and new approaches to planning, building and maintaining infrastructure. These discussions will lead to recommendations and commitments towards bold, new approaches and alternate ways of financing infrastructure.
"The National Infrastructure Summit is a major step in managing our individual challenges in a structured and cohesive partnership," said Mayor Fiacco. "Thriving communities are essential to the economic recovery and continued strength and vitality of our cities, provinces, and the nation as a whole."
Further additions to the Summit include a Trade Show and Sponsorship Opportunities. The Trade Show will provide a platform for exhibitors to showcase their innovative products and services and bring together creative ideas from across the country.
