National launch of Chartwell-Québec's Senior Star contest
MONTREAL, March 31 /CNW Telbec/ - Chartwell-Québec is today officially launching its Senior Star contest across Quebec. This competition to spotlight musical talent, voice or instrument, is open to all Quebec residents 65 years of age and over, as of December 31, 2010. The winner of Senior Star 2010, who will receive $5,000 in cash, will be selected by a jury composed of Quebec celebrities from the artistic world during a contest gala at the Théâtre Corona, in Montreal, on September 29, 2010.
"This initiative represents one of our core values, which is to honour and celebrate seniors. We're a part of the daily lives of hundreds of our retirees and we know that there are extraordinary talents who are waiting to be discovered. We are excited to showcase these talented individuals and crown Quebec's Senior Star for 2010. I would also like to add that this contest is open to all Quebec seniors. We hope that as many people as possible will take part," said Caroline Crête, Vice-President of Sales for Chartwell-Québec.
Regional juries, made up of well-known personalities within their communities, will select three Senior Stars at each of the 10 regional finals taking place across Quebec from May 17 to June 8, 2010. A few days before the International Day of Older Persons, the winners from the 10 Quebec regional competitions will be invited to participate in the national final in Montreal on September 29, 2010.
