OTTAWA, ON, June 18, 2020 /CNW/ - National Public Service Week recognizes the many contributions of federal public servants who proudly serve Canadians from coast to coast to coast.
This week has been an opportunity to acknowledge the work of the Public Service of Canada, and federal public servants have been reflecting on the major achievements of the past year.
In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, public servants continue to deliver programs and services to Canadians while rolling out critical initiatives such as Canada's Emergency Response Benefit and the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy. And we have seen unprecedented collaboration between local, provincial, territorial and public sector partners, as well as those in other countries, to minimize the health, economic and social impacts of COVID-19.
The Public Service of Canada has maintained an international reputation for service excellence. Canadians have high expectations for their public service, and public servants, in turn, take pride in serving their country and its people, particularly in a time when their work is valued most.
Quote
"As we navigate this pandemic, it has given me a great sense of pride to see Canada's world-class public service continue to rise to the challenges, through flexibility and ingenuity, of meeting Canadians' needs each and every day. Our public servants make up a talented, skilled and diverse workforce, and during this week, I hope we can take the time to recognize their ongoing contributions."
The Honourable Jean-Yves Duclos, President of the Treasury Board
