Nature Conservancy of Canada ranked top environmental charity in Canada three years running

TORONTO, June 27, 2012 /CNW/ - The 2012 Charity 100 raking in the summer issue of MoneySense Magazine once again ranks the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) as Canada's top environmental charity. For the third year in a row, MoneySense recognizes NCC as one of Canada's most responsible and efficient charities, with an overall grade of A+.

"NCC is very proud of our standing A-grade from MoneySense Magazine," said John Lounds, president and CEO of the Nature Conservancy of Canada. "Through prudent management we ensure that 85 percent of our funds go directly into our conservation work. We believe this is critically important for our supporters, as well as for the plants and wildlife our land conservation work helps to protect."

Using data obtained from the Canada Revenue Agency, websites, and the charities themselves, MoneySense ranks Canada's 100 largest charities according to their fiscal efficiency, fundraising efforts, reserve fund size, transparency and governance.
