LOS ALTOS, Calif., Jan. 19, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Netskope, the leading cloud access security broker, today announced the company's second annual International Privacy Day Symposium. The symposium, entitled Cloud Data and Security: A Private Affair That Works, will be held in Toronto, Ontario and will feature technology innovators and industry experts examining how organizations are protecting their reputation and intellectual property in alignment with data privacy and cloud and security frameworks.
The symposium will feature Dr. Ann Cavoukian, executive director of the Privacy and Big Data Institute at Ryerson University and three-term Ontario privacy commissioner, Stephane Charbonneau, founder and chief technology officer with TITUS, Mark Zimmerman, chief information officer, MaRS Discovery District, Michael Dundas, global security advisor for organizations including TD Bank and Sandvine and Jamie Barnett, chief marketing officer, Netskope.
The adoption of software-as-a-service (SaaS) applications is accelerating for organizations that seek competitive, sustainable advantages and operating efficiency, and those organizations are feeling increased pressure from their employees for more cloud apps. At the same time, major technology vendors, most recently Amazon and Microsoft, are strengthening their commitment to Canada by erecting data centers across the country to meet demand while supporting privacy and residency requirements. Symposium attendees will receive practical advice for architecting and implementing cloud services with built-in data privacy and security.
