Neutrona offers its global carrier customers extended reach network access throughout Latin America. Neutrona has been operating under the name IFX International Carrier Services (IFX-ICS) following its purchase of the demerged international carrier services business unit of IFX Networks, a neutral and independent Latin American carrier. Going forward, the IFX-ICS name and logo will be replaced by the Neutrona Networks name and new corporate branding.
Neutrona is also planning additional core network upgrades, PoP expansion, and systems enhancements this year as part of a multi-million dollar investment program. Over the past 4 months Neutrona has added PoPs in Rio de Janeiro, London, and Frankfurt, and by year-end will add PoPs in Boca Raton, Chicago, Singapore, and Tokyo to facilitate network interconnections into Latin America. Neutrona founder and CEO Mateo Ward will continue in his current role, while Luciano Salata, who founded and developed IFX's carrier services business, was appointed President and COO of Neutrona earlier this year.
Ward says Neutrona can help carriers directly benefit from one of the world's fastest-growing telecom markets, and Salata echoes this vision, noting that Neutrona's objective is "to be the carrier of choice for every international carrier that needs to serve its home market enterprise customers in Latin America."
"Think of us as a network bridge between the local markets in Latin America and international carriers outside of Latin America," says Ward. "Neutrona provides our customers with greater resources and options for both their international and local needs, making the region significantly easier to deal with."
Ward and Salata noted that Neutrona will continue to maintain a strategic relationship with IFX Networks, which will now focus on serving in-region Latin American enterprise customers.
