TORONTO, Aug. 15, 2012 /CNW/ - Starting September 1, GO Transit will be adjusting some schedules, increasing service on some routes and reinstating its GO Bus service to schools. GO riders traveling between Rouge Hill GO and University of Toronto's Scarborough may ride TTC route 38 for free when they show their valid GO fare.
In order to operate an efficient transit system across the region and meet changing demand, GO continually monitors its services and make modifications accordingly.
The service changes include:
09 - Lakeshore East GO Train & Bus
- By Oct 8, the train from Pickering at 7:45 a.m. will include two additional railcars, providing 320 more seats.
- The weekend westbound bus trip from Oshawa at 5:40 a.m. will depart ten minutes earlier at 5:30.
80 - Pefferlaw/Beaverton GO Bus
- Effective Sept 2, a new route will run between Pefferlaw and Beaverton: nine weekday trips in both directions and three weekend trips in both directions.
81 - Port Perry/Whitby GO Bus
- Two new weekday southbound trips from Beaverton to Whitby GO will connect to westbound Lakeshore East trains.
- A new weekday northbound trip from Whitby GO at 10:13 a.m. will make all stops to Beaverton, arriving at 11:43.
- The weekday northbound trip from Whitby GO at 2:09 p.m. has been extended to serve all stops to Beaverton, arriving at 3:39.
- Weekend service has increased to three trips daily. Trip times have been adjusted.
88 - Peterborough/Oshawa GO Bus
- School trips have been reinstated
93 - Durham College &UOIT/Scarborough Express GO Bus
- School trips have been reinstated
- Two new weekday eastbound trips from Scarborough Centre Bus Terminal to UOIT/Durham College.
TTC route 38
- GO passengers can now ride for free on TTC route 38 between Rouge Hill GO and University of Toronto's Scarborough campus; they must show their valid GO fare to qualify.
