New, adjusted GO Bus service for Milton riders, school service returns

TORONTO, Aug. 15, 2012 /CNW/ - Starting September 1, GO Transit will be adjusting some schedules, increasing service on some routes and reinstating its GO Bus service to schools.

In order to operate an efficient transit system across the region and meet changing demand, GO continually monitors its services and make modifications accordingly.

The service changes include:

19 - Oakville/North York GO Bus

• Some trip times have been adjusted within five minutes to reflect actual travel times, including some earlier departures.
• A new weekday eastbound trip from Square One at 7:25 a.m. will serve Yonge & Sheppard before arriving at Finch GO Bus Terminal at 8:20.

21 - Milton GO Bus 

• School trips have been reinstated
• A new weekday eastbound trip from Milton at 4:45 a.m. will serve Milton GO and Meadowvale before running express to Union Station for 5:50.
• The weekday eastbound trip from Milton at 4:55 a.m. will now leave ten minutes later at 5:05.
• The weekday eastbound trip from Milton at 4:40 a.m. will now start at Lisgar GO at 5:00 a.m., serve Streetsville GO and run express to Union Station; this trip will no longer serve Milton and Meadowvale.

25 - Waterloo/Mississauga GO Bus

• School trips have been reinstated
• Most eastbound trips from University of Waterloo will now depart five minutes earlier, stop times along the route have been adjusted
• Two Saturday eastbound trips  will now leave University of Waterloo ten minutes earlier
• The eastbound Friday trip from University of Waterloo at 1:30 p.m. will now leave 15 minutes earlier at 1:15.
• Five new eastbound Friday trips will serve Square One; two will depart from University of Waterloo, two from Kitchener Bus Terminal and one from Wilfrid Laurier University.
• One new weekday westbound trip from Square One at 9:40 a.m. will make all stops to University of Waterloo, arriving at 11:15.

27 - Milton/North York GO Bus

• Some trip times have been adjusted within five minutes to reflect actual travel times, including some earlier departures.
• A new westbound trip from Finch GO Terminal at 6:50 a.m.  will serve Yorkdale, Meadowvale Business Park, arriving at Meadowvale GO at 7:45.
• Six weekday westbound trips have been adjusted by 5 or 10 minutes, including some earlier departures.
