New, adjusted GO Bus service for Richmond Hill, Keswick, Barrie riders, school service returns Français
TORONTO, Aug. 15, 2012 /CNW/ - Starting September 1, GO Transit will be adjusting some schedules, increasing service, and reinstating its GO Bus service to schools. With the return of school also comes the end of GO's summer weekend service pilot along the Barrie corridor.
In order to operate an efficient transit system across the region and meet changing demand, GO continually monitors its services and make modifications accordingly.
The service changes include:
61 - Richmond Hill GO Bus
- Some trip times have been adjusted within five minutes to reflect actual travel times, including some earlier departures.
65 - Barrie GO Train & Newmarket/Toronto GO Bus
- Weekend Barrie service pilot ends on September 3.
- Some bus trip times have been adjusted within five minutes to reflect actual travel times, including some earlier departures.
- Five new weekday bus trips will run between East Gwillimbury GO and Union Station.
- Six new weekend bus trips between Newmarket GO and Union Station
- By Oct 8, the southbound train from Allandale Waterfront GO at 6:52 a.m. will include two additional railcars, providing 320 more seats.
66 - Newmarket/North York Express
- Five new weekday trips will run between Newmarket GO Terminal and Yorkdale.
67 - Keswick/North York GO Bus
- A new weekday route will run between Keswick and Finch GO Terminal, serving Glenwoods Park & Ride Lot, Aurora Carpool Lot and Yonge/Sheppard: five new weekday southbound trips and eight new northbound trips.
68 - Barrie/Newmarket GO Bus
- Some trip times have been adjusted within five minutes.
69 - Sutton GO Bus
- Service between Newmarket GO and Pefferlaw has been discontinued as York Region Transit began operating YRT route 50 in July and offers a similar service. Passengers traveling between Pefferlaw and Beaverton can take new GO Bus route 80 starting September 2
- Service between Union Station and East Gwillimbury GO will now operate as GO Bus route 65.
