TORONTO, July 28, 2016 /CNW/ - New Balance Canada is introducing a new way to fit athletes with the New Balance Stride I.D. Experience Lab featuring 3D scan technology.
The 3D scan technology is an innovative system by Volumental of Sweden that scans athlete's feet to generate an advanced fit analysis and recommendation. In a few seconds, the system outputs a 3D scan of the athlete's feet and key measurements to provide a proper fit recommendation. The solution consists of highly advanced software generating measurements and recommendations based on images of the feet.
To further the experience, the Stride I.D. lab features additional technology platforms that allow the retail associates to track the athlete's gait. Together, these technologies allow the athlete to find the ideal pair of shoes based on size and gait to help them to perform at their highest level. New Balance Canada in association with Sport Chek will introduce the first Stride ID Experience lab in Canada for their flagship Store in Sherway Gardens, opening today.
"We are very excited to be able to bring our New Balance brand experience to Sport Chek along with cutting-edge technology to Canadian consumers stated Jon Ram, Executive Vice President, North America, New Balance Athletics Inc. "New Balance has 110 years of innovation history and the Stride I.D. Experience allows us to more effectively put athletes in the right shoes to help them achieve peak performance."
"At Sport Chek, we believe in associating with brands that enable Canadians to reach new levels of athletic excellence," said Eric Watt, Vice President, New Retail, FGL Sports. "New Balance is a brand that is dedicated to helping individuals establish new benchmarks and break new ground."
