New Board Appointment - British Columbia Ferry Services Inc.
VICTORIA, Aug. 27, 2012 /CNW/ - British Columbia Ferry Services Inc. is pleased to announce that Guy D. Johnson has been appointed to its Board of Directors effective August 25, 2012.
Mr. Johnson of Victoria, a partner in the Brentwood Bay Lodge and Spa hotel property in Victoria, B.C., brings a wide range of business skills to the existing Board. Mr. Johnson has a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Illinois and currently serves on the board of SiriusXMCanada, a public company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange. Mr. Johnson has also served as a senior executive member of Sirius Satellite Radio and Thomson Multimedia.
In making the announcement, Board Chair Donald P. Hayes said that he welcomes Mr. Johnson and the wealth of experience and knowledge that he brings to the Board.
BC Ferries is one of the largest ferry operators in the world, providing year-round vehicle and passenger service on 25 routes to 47 terminals, with a fleet of 35 vessels. Last year the company transported more than 20.2 million passengers and 7.8 million vehicles, generating over $738 million in total revenues.
