OTTAWA, April 20, 2017 /CNW/ - Cannabis Canada is pleased to announce that several new members were named to the Association's Board of Directors at its annual general meeting on April 10.
Neil Closner, CEO of MedReleaf was confirmed for another term as Chairman of the Board of the Association. Several new members joined the Board. They are Allan Rewak, of Newstrike; John Stewart of Emblem Cannabis; and Sébastien St. Louis of The Hydropothecary.
"Our Board will greatly benefit from the continued sage counsel of Mr. Closner and the enthusiasm and fresh perspective of our newly appointed members – including a representative of one of the newest companies to join the Association," said Colette Rivet, Cannabis Canada's Executive Director. "With our new Board members in place, and new oversight measures in development, we are preparing to meet the challenges ahead, as the Government of Canada prepares to table legislation for the legalization and regulation of cannabis in Canada."
