New date for inquest into the death of Kurth Hansen announced

KINGSTON, ON, March 8 /CNW/ - Dr. Roger Skinner, Regional Supervising Coroner for East Region, Kingston Office, today announced that a new date has been set for the inquest into the death of Kurth Hansen, previously scheduled for February 22, 2010.
Mr. Hansen, 75, died on July 8, 2006, from injuries sustained during the course of his employment at a construction site in Kingston. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.
The inquest will examine the events surrounding Mr. Hansen's death and the jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.
The inquest is expected to last two days.
The inquest will now begin at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, March 29, 2010, at the Portsmouth Olympic Harbour Complex, 53 Yonge Street, Kingston. Dr. Louise McNaughton-Filion will preside as inquest coroner and Ms. Jennifer Ferguson will be counsel to the coroner.
