, Acting Regional Supervising Coroner for North Region, Thunder Bay Office, today announced that a new date has been set for the inquest into the death of
Pierre Poulin
originally scheduled to begin on
November 26, 2009
.
Mr. Poulin
, 38, died on
May 12, 2006
, from injuries received during the course of his employment at a construction site in Hornepayne. Under the Coroners Act, an inquest is mandatory when a worker dies as a result of an accident occurring at a construction project.
The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding
Mr. Poulin
's death and the jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.
The inquest is expected to last three days.
The inquest will now begin at
9:30 a.m.
on
Wednesday, December 16, 2009
, at The Royal Canadian Legion Hall, 1131 Front Street, Hearst.
Dr. David Legge
will preside as inquest coroner and
Mr. Pierre Payeur
will be counsel to the coroner.
