New Democrats Leading Change in Ontario
HAMILTON, April 13, 2012 /CNW/ - NDP Leader Andrea Horwath, her caucus and New Democrats from across the province are gathering together in Steeltown this weekend to map out a blue print for leading change in Ontario. Young people from Hamilton secondary school Sir John A. MacDonald and a local community centre will join Ms. Horwath as special guests this evening at K'Naan's evening performance.
"In October, Ontarians sent more New Democrat MPPs to the Legislature in a historic election. We're grateful for their trust. We take our responsibilities seriously. We're making it our first priority to stand up for Ontarians in this minority parliament" said Horwath.
Horwath and New Democrat MPPs from across the province look forward to meaningful discussions with party membership over the course of the weekend. New Democrats are determined to draw on tradition and experience, build on recent momentum, inspire youth and carry the party forward to leading change in Ontario.
"New Democrats are leading change in Ontario and showing there's a new way of doing politics," said Horwath. "We're leading by example, taking the responsible approach and putting people first."
