NEW ECONOMIC TIMES ARE "TOUGH, SCARY BUT SOLVABLE", SAYS AUTHOR, ORGANIZER OF
UPCOMING DISTINGUISHED ADVISOR CONFERENCE
WINNIPEG, Nov. 2 /CNW/ - From November 14th through 17th, more than 100 leading Canadian financial advisors, wealth managers and accountants will gather in Orlando, Florida to hear 20 thought leaders expound on the best financial and investment strategies for Canadian families in these tough economic times.
"The times are certainly tough and scary, but they're solvable," says Evelyn Jacks, organizer of the Distinguished Advisor Conference, with its theme 'Focus on the Family'. "We won't know all the answers - no one does - but the conference provides focus on a strategic, team approach to decision-making around sustainable family wealth management."
Jacks believes the conference will also provide advisors with key insights on "how to navigate Canadian families toward the best possible financial outcomes, as the developed world continues to experience the effects of deleveraging, recession, unemployment, tax changes and persistent challenges to investment returns."
Founder and president of The Knowledge Bureau, a national, private post-secondary educational institute and publisher, Jacks is the author of more than 40 books. She serves on the Government of Canada's Task Force on Financial Literacy.
At the conference, Jacks will speak on 'Economic Trends in Tax Policy'.
Among the other outstanding speakers are Donald Stewart, Chief Executive Officer of Sun Life Financial and Chair of Canada's Task Force on Financial Literacy. Mr. Stewart will speak on 'Leveraging Financial Literacy in the Family'.
Noted author Gordon Pape will give an address on 'Retirement Havens: The Dark Side of Paradise'.
