Old Computers Getting a Second Chance in Ontario
The Electronic Recycling Association announces a new full-service depot in Toronto
TORONTO, Nov. 8, 2016 /CNW/ - The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to announce the opening of a brand new depot in Toronto. The grand opening is scheduled for January 30, 2017, but services are available as of today.
ERA, a not for profit organization, has been reducing unnecessary e-waste and its adverse environmental contribution through the recovery, refurbishment and donation of electronic and IT equipment since 2004. ERA currently has locations in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Winnipeg and Montreal.
"We are excited to bring a new e-waste solution to Toronto. Reuse is an extremely important first step in the technology cycle, and we're committed to responsibly extending the life of technology while addressing the digital divide through our computer donation program. There is a real need in the community for this type of service, and we are looking forward to contributing to Toronto's overall sustainability," says Bojan Paduh, president of the ERA.
No longer will old computers be trashed, shredded and melted, before being given a chance for a second life. ERA will work with individuals and corporations to reuse and refurbish computers, laptops and other electronic equipment, and make valuable technology donations to local communities and throughout Manitoba.
ERA's Toronto depot is located at 8 491 Brimley Rd Toronto, ON. Equipment can be dropped off at this location for reuse or recycling. Pickup and physical data destruction services can be arranged by calling 416 477 0664.
About the Electronic Recycling Association (ERA)
Established in 2004, ERA is a non-profit organization directed to reduce the environmental impact of improperly discarded toxic electronic waste by offering accessible services to help corporations and individuals manage their retiring IT assets. Through industry leading pickup, data removal and reporting/certification services, ERA provides a full-circle solution for e-waste management. With reuse being ERA's top priority, every item that is received is examined for any remaining productive life and refurbished for reuse. True end of life items are transferred to accredited recyclers where a nil landfill contribution can be assured. ERA is committed to supporting local charities and individuals in need through the provision of electronic equipment to charities and individuals alike.
