NEW FPPQ WEB PORTAL NOW ONLINE!
A virtual port of entry for the pork sector
LONGUEUIL, QC, Sept. 30 /CNW Telbec/ - The Fédération des producteurs de porcs du Québec (FPPQ) today launched its new interactive online leporcduquebec.com portal. Visitors to the updated and more accessible version of the pork producer association's website can easily find out anything they need to know about Quebec's pork industry in a single click. The site also features a section filled with delicious pork recipes, a 3D game for kids, a health section, pork industry news…and much more.
"Our new internet portal is a major promotional tool for pork producers," said FPPQ president Jean-Guy Vincent. "The FPPQ has been on the web for a long time, but as internet media have changed and evolved substantially in the past few years, it was time we adapted."
While the new communications tool is addressed primarily to the general public, it is also useful to the news media, school systems, pork producers and industry partners. The new portal, which is designed to be informative, entertaining and easy to use, includes several sections designed to meet online visitor expectations. Visitors can also check out the latest news and features by subscribing to newsletters available on different sections of the site. What's more, the FPPQ is now a presence on social networks like Facebook and Twitter. Federation pages are accessible from the portal as well.
Besides serving as the umbrella site for the Quebec Pork recipe site and the FPPQ, the portal also include the Fondation Tirelire website, the Quebec pork producers' charitable "piggy bank" foundation dedicated to feeding the hungry.

A major new feature is the classified Vos annonces advertising site. This site, which operates in the same way as other sites of its type, provides an opportunity for people to buy and sell the quick and easy way through a published ad. Vos annonces is provided as a service, free of charge, for a limited time only.
Bob le Chef Pork Challenge!
To launch its new portal, the FPPQ has organized a contest in cooperation with Bob le Chef, who's challenging users to send in a video of their most "daring" recipe that includes Quebec pork. Participants could win a gourmet dinner for two at the Au pied de cochon restaurant in Montreal or Le Cochon Dingue in Quebec City. The winning video will be shown on the FPPQ website as well as on the Federation's Twitter, Facebook and YouTube accounts.
The new internet portal was developed by Odacia (www.odacia.ca) in cooperation with the FPPQ. Illustrations on the site and the 3D game design are also original Odacia creations.
