New Home Builders Presented with Awards for Best After-Sales Service

TORONTO, April 17, 2012 /CNW/ - Tarion Warranty Corporation announced today the recipients of the 2012 Tarion Awards of Excellence, the only awards in Ontario that recognize new home builders based solely on their customer service delivery.

Awards are being presented to the following builders: 

• The Daniels Corporation, Toronto - High-Rise Category
• Fusion Homes, Guelph - Large Volume Category
• Wrighthaven Homes Limited, Elora - Medium Volume Category
• Cedarstone Homes Limited, Ashton - Small Volume Category

"The Tarion Awards of Excellence recognizes builders that stand behind their construction and deliver excellent customer service," said Howard Bogach, Tarion President and CEO. "The award recipients, along with the 16 other finalists, raise the bar in terms of setting the standards for providing Ontarians with a positive new home buying experience." 

A comprehensive survey was sent to approximately 45,000 Ontario homeowners who took possession of a new home between October 1, 2010 and September 30, 2011. More than 7,000 homeowners responded to a Crunch Research survey (in partnership with Harris Decima), representing 16 per cent of consumers who bought a new home in Ontario during that time.

Questions covered every stage of the after-sales homeowner-builder relationship: from the signing of the agreement of purchase and sale, through construction and the pre-delivery inspection to after-sales service. 

Originated in 1990, the Tarion Awards of Excellence, formally known as the Ernest Assaly Ontario Builder of the Year awards, were established in honour of Tarion's first Chair and prominent Ottawa builder, the late Ernest W. Assaly.
