New Miller Thomson Chair Sees National Footprint as Unique Service Advantage

TORONTO, Feb. 24, 2014 /CNW/ - National law firm Miller Thomson LLP has appointed Partner Kent H. Davidson Q.C. as its new National Chair.

Kent Davidson brings more than 30 years of experience to his new role, including appearances before the Alberta Labour Relations Board, the Court of Queen's Bench, the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada on behalf of Canada's employers. Davidson has also served two terms on City Council in the City of St. Albert. He has been an active member of his community throughout his career.

Davidson's appointment follows two successful three-year terms by outgoing Chair Gerald Courage.

A tax lawyer for more than 30 years, Courage was first elected Chair of Miller Thomson in 2008. During his tenure as Chair, Miller Thomson achieved a number of important milestones. These include forging an alliance with business law firm FIDAL in France, deepening both firms international business roots; and expanding into Saskatchewan, making it the only national firm with a presence in that province - one of the strongest economies in Canada.
