New President and CEO of Société du Palais des congrès de Montréal nominated

MONTREAL , Sept. 24 /CNW Telbec/ - The Société du Palais des congrès de Montréal is pleased to announce yesterday's appointment by the Québec Cabinet of Marc Tremblay as President and CEO, and member of the Board, effective October 26, 2009 .

Board Chairman Claude Liboiron declared: "I wish to extend my warm congratulations to Mr. Tremblay for his appointment, and to assure him of my support and the cooperation of the entire team as he undertakes his new duties."

Mr. Tremblay is a graduate of Concordia University , where he also earned his Master of Business Administration degree. The President of Six Flags - La Ronde for the past three years, he is also the former city of Montréal Assistant Director General for economic development, urban planning, housing, real estate and heritage. A seasoned manager widely reputed for his leadership, his abilities as a team player and his customer service mindset led him to Intrawest, where he worked as Tremblant's Assistant Director General and Executive Director of Sales and Marketing, and Vice-President and CEO of Mountain Creek Resort in New Jersey.

Mr. Tremblay welcomes the coming years' numerous challenges and opportunities to galvanize the commercial potential of the Société and the strengths of its partners toward implementing new business development strategies for Montréal's convention centre.
