/CNW/ - The Canadian Society of Immigration Consultants (CSIC) today announced the appointment of a new public interest member from Ontario to its Board of Directors. CSIC, which regulates immigration consultants, approved the appointment yesterday.
The new director is
Major Alex
Moseanu, SBStJ, CD, GCSJ(J), MO, ORCB, AdeC. Major Moseanu brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He has more than 40 years of proven leadership and management experience in both the Canadian military and the private sector with Air
Canada
where he acted as a Customer Sales and Service Department Supply and Logistics Co-ordinator.
Major Moseanu is an accomplished military officer having served
Canada
all across the world and, as a result, has experienced life in several different countries. In 1994 the Canadian Heraldry Authority granted Major Moseanu Arms, Badge and Standard, part of a system of honours of the Canadian Crown. Further, Major Moseanu is the recipient of the Order of St. John, the
Canada
125 Medal, the Queen's
Golden Jubilee
Medal, the Canadian Forces Decoration with 2 Clasps, and he has also been decorated by several other foreign Orders of Chivalry.
Major Moseanu is a life member of the Royal Canadian Armoured Corps Association (Cavalry), The Canadian Grenadier Guards Association, a member of The Royal Canadian Military Institute, The
Barbados
Officers Association, Fort York Legion Branch 165 and many other worthwhile organizations. From 1994 to 1999 he was the Region Cadet Advisor for Central Ontario Area. Major Moseanu is Aide de Camp to the
Lieutenant Governor
of Ontario where he has served since 1997.

The Canadian Society of Immigration Consultants is the professional regulatory body for immigration consultants in
Canada
. Established in 2004 it currently has more than 1600 members. CSIC's mandate is to protect consumers of immigration consulting services. Consequently, it is responsible for ensuring the education, competency testing and the discipline of its members. CSIC also requires its members to carry errors and omissions insurance and to contribute to a compensation fund.
