New PwC headquarters goes above ground at 18 York Street
- Designed by the award-winning firm, KPMB Architects, 18 York will total 650,000 square feet and rise 26-storeys on the north-west corner of York Street and Bremner Boulevard. - Targeting a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold standard, the new building will feature state-of-the-art operating and life safety systems including: rain water collection system, Enwave's deep lake central cooling supplemented by a thermal storage system, 18" raised floor, and enhanced indoor air quality. - The emerging area directly south of Toronto's financial core and one block from Union Station will have access to the PATH and neighbour to Maple Leaf Square, 1.8 million square feet of living, working and entertainment space featuring everything from cafes and sports bars to fine dining, health, fitness and personal service amenities, daycare facilities and grocery/retail space.
Regular updates on the building's development are provided to PwC employees via the firm's intranet Web portal, including the latest construction images, photos, design benefits, environmental features, maps and videos.
Scheduled completion for the building is fall 2011.
