New Travel Guide ready for Victoria Day Weekend Travelers

NIAGARA, ON, May 17, 2012 /CNW/ - Exploring and discovering Ontario's own wine region is made easier than ever with the new 2012 Wine Country Ontario travel guide. Designed with consumers in mind, the new guide shows the magnificent breadth of the wine country experience, making trip planning both inspirational and exciting. Released at wineries on May 19th, 2012, this must-have travel tool, in partnership with its new online companion winecountryontario.ca, offers extensive information and tips on the best hidden gems including breathtaking scenery, regional cuisine and great local wines - all so close to home.
This year's guide includes 81 winery properties from Ontario's four primary wine destinations - Lake Erie North Shore & Pelee Island, Niagara Escarpment & Twenty Valley, Niagara-on-the-Lake and Prince Edward County, in addition to a new section of Emerging Regions which profiles some of Ontario's newest wineries. An easy-to-use pullout Wine Route Map along with a profile on each winery makes the guide extremely popular for travelers planning a wine country adventure.
The unique experience of visiting Wine Country Ontario allows consumers to enjoy warm hospitality while soaking in beautiful landscapes, stunning architecture and intriguing galleries and shops along quite roads in Ontario's backyard. Internationally renowned wineries offer outstanding wines along with a myriad of events, festivals and hands-on vineyard experiences creating unforgettable memories.

Throughout the year, copies of the guide, printed on FSC paper, will be available at winery locations and Ontario Tourism & Information Centers (OTIC). On June 1st, consumers are invited for a taste of wine country at Ontario Tourism's Discover Ontario event at Dundas Square, Toronto where they can pick up a copy while visiting the Wine Country Ontario experiential booth. In June, 500,000 copies will be distributed in Food & Drink magazines and available at many LCBO stores.
