WINNIPEG, Sept. 27, 2012 /CNW/ - Several new higher yielding varieties have been added to the Clearfield® Production System for canola and are available to growers for the 2013 season.
Joining Clearfield canola's existing high-performance lineup are Nexera Canola Hybrid 2012 CL, Nexera Canola Hybrid 2016 CL, Brett Young 5525 CL, BrettYoung 5535 CL, Pioneer 46H75 and Viterra VR 9560 CL. As with all Clearfield canola varieties, these new varieties are non-genetically modified because they are bred through traditional methods.
"These new higher yielding varieties, coupled with the launch of ARES® herbicide, have advanced Clearfield canola growers' ability to maximize the potential of every acre," says Harley House, Brand Manager for Clearfield Crops, BASF Canada. "There's never been a better time to grow Clearfield canola."
The new Clearfield canola varieties, combined with unprecedented weed control from BASF, offer a range of benefits including impressive yields, improved harvestability and reduced lodging.
In addition, ARES herbicide offers superior control of broadleaf and grassy weeds including lamb's quarters, wild buckwheat and cleavers. Available in a convenient liquid formulation, its wider application window means it can be applied from the two- to seven-leaf stage on Clearfield canola.
