New York Fries Announces Expansion into Turkey
Two stores to open in Istanbul, furthering international growth strategy
TORONTO, July 4, 2013 /CNW/ - New York Fries, a privately owned Canadian company, is proud to announce the opening of two stores in Istanbul, Turkey. These two locations will mark the 27th and 28th stores in the chain's international growth strategy opening in August and September of this year. The New York Fries brand is currently expanding into countries in the Middle East and Asia region.
Both stores will be operated by ARDAQ Group Company, led by Rashad Mammadov, President and Murat Apkinar, Solution Partner. ARDAQ is the exclusive licensee of New York Fries in Turkey. ARDAQ Group Company is a branch of GKT OJSC (Gence Körpü Tikinti) of Azerbaijan.
"We are very excited to announce another international market opening up for New York Fries, especially in such a great city like Istanbul," said Jay Gould, president of New York Fries and South St. Burger Co. "We're looking forward to opening our two stores in Turkey and introducing New York Fries to a whole new group of consumers."
Officially opening its doors in August, the first store will be located in Turkey's Brandium Mall in the mall's food court. The store will occupy 476 square feet with customer access to both food court seating and an outdoor patio. The second location will open in Marmara Forum's food court in late September. Construction for this project is already underway.
The opening of the Istanbul locations follows another international franchise for New York Fries, which opened its first location in China at InCity Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, on December 28th 2012. This location is a franchise of Next Step Limited; the licensees of the brand in Hong Kong and Macau. New locations in China and Hong Kong are planned for this fall.
