Newad and Zoom Media strengthen their respective offerings to Canadian advertisers - Major transaction between two of the country's indoor advertising leaders Français
MONTREAL and TORONTO, June 8, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - Canadian indoor advertising leaders Newad and Zoom Media announced today a major transaction that will refocus the business activities of both companies.
Under an agreement signed Monday morning Newad acquires Zoom Media's RestoBars, Campus, Fashion, Business, Medical, and Golf networks while Zoom Media acquires Newad's fitness establishments. The transaction was announced this morning in a joint statement by Michael Reha, CEO of Newad, and François de Gaspé Beaubien, CEO of Zoom Media.
"This announcement constitutes an important step in the evolution of the indoor advertising industry in Canada," stated Michael Reha. "This business strategy solidifies the missions of two companies who shared common networks for 20 years, but who today are setting their growth prospects on specific horizons," he added.
Newad now offers the largest number of indoor advertising faces in the country with a total of 45,000 digital and static boards divided among 5,000 prime locations and delivers over 280 million monthly impressions. Zoom Media continues to expand its Fitness network in Canada with 5,500 digital and static boards in over 750 gyms delivering 25 million monthly impressions. "Our focus as a company is fitness and this transaction strengthens our leadership position in this network in Canada" said François de Gaspé Beaubien.
The announcement significantly strengthens Newad's positioning in Canada, and it does so in a very competitive market. "This transaction raises us to the top of the RestoBars and the highly coveted Campus networks in terms of number of establishments, advertising faces, and impressions delivered" underlined Michael Reha.
In talks since the beginning of spring, the upper management of both companies was committed to facilitating the optimal integration of Zoom Media's employees in Newad's Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary, and Edmonton offices. In that regard, Newad announced it would maintain the resources and business activities of Zoom Media's Quebec City office. "The Newad and Zoom management teams have had mutually respectful and beneficial exchanges. This will help to ensure a smooth transition," said Zoom Media CEO François de Gaspé Beaubien.
Newad and Zoom Transaction: Good news for advertisers and agencies
"The transaction will facilitate purchasing and targeted advertising placement. Newad leads the Young and Affluent segment by activating what is now the largest indoor advertising network of digital and static faces, while Zoom reaches the largest audience in Fitness establishments also with its digital and static boards," stated Newad CEO Michael Reha.
"Advertisers have been looking to simplify their advertising investments and purchasing processes for several years. Each advertising campaign in Zoom and Newad networks will now have more impact, enjoy greater coverage, and benefit from improved operational performance," said Zoom Media CEO François de Gaspé Beaubien.
"The transaction is materializing because we believe, now more than ever, that indoor advertising solutions, especially when it comes to new technologies and digital developments, constitute one of the most relevant and high-performing marketing tools of Canada's advertising industry," added Newad CEO Michael Reha.
Newad and Zoom Media plan to continue making technological investments in digital advertising at an accelerated pace over the next few years. Newad now has close to 2,000 digital screens enabling both the production and the active and creative diffusion of perfectly targeted messages. Zoom Media now delivers over 15 million digital monthly impressions through over 1,500 screens in its sight, sound and motion digital medium located in its Fitness network in Canada.
