Neweb Labs Inc. and Impressview Inc. will be able to go ahead with their domestic and international marketing activities Français
Government of Canada to provide $150,000 in funding for these two Montreal-based businesses
MONTREAL, Sept. 1, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)
In order to create and market innovative products, businesses need to be able to rely on adequate resources. To this end, the Government of Canada is committed to supporting innovative Canadian businesses. A driving force of the economy, innovation is the key to success, generating growth that benefits businesses and communities.
David Lametti, MP for LaSalle — Émard — Verdun and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, acting on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for CED, announced that Neweb Labs Inc. will receive $50,000 in funding, in the form of a repayable contribution, to support its marketing activities in North America and Europe. Impressview Inc. will be awarded a repayable contribution of $100,000 for the implementation of a marketing strategy for the Impressview software in Canada and the U.S.
In operation since 2014, Neweb Labs is an innovative SME that provides value-added services in the areas of digital entertainment and new information technologies. The company designs and uses animation technologies in real-time and creates virtual interactive characters for new media. Neweb Labs' characters are distinctive because they integrate innovative technologies (motion capture, artificial intelligence and 3D), which given them a market edge in terms of originality and dimension. They can also be tailored to brands or large-scale events wishing to customize their image.
The funding awarded under CED's Quebec Economic Development Program (QEDP) will allow Neweb Labs to hire an expert resource to help showcase the company at various specialized fairs and conferences and develop promotional tools to penetrate the European and North American markets.
Founded in 2014, Impressview is an innovative SME that develops and markets software that allows users to create presentation videos for use in hiring or admission processes. Offered as an SaaS (software as a service) model, Impressview targets educational institutions (admission, internship or student placement processes), as well as placement agencies and headhunters (placement of candidates).
The funding provided under the Quebec Economic Development Program will allow Impressview to retain the services of resources specializing in business development, take part in international trade fairs, and pursue its work in the area of intellectual property and the development of promotional material to increase the company's visibility on the U.S. and Canadian markets.
