MONTREAL, Aug. 30, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - Montreal will be host to a new international film festival as of this fall. The inaugural edition of the Canada-China International Film Festival will be held September 16 to 19, in partnership with Concordia University.
In addition to public screenings of films in competition, the festival will be a meeting place for people working in the fields of art, technology and digital interactive media. A co-production pitch forum also aims to develop new collaborations and expand markets for producers and distributors in China and Canada.
Festival highlights include:
- An Entertainment Technology Summit featuring industry leaders, including executives from Cirque du Soleil, Disney, IBM and Google
- An interactive exhibition showcasing the latest in virtual and augmented realities
- A forum on women in film and television featuring Oscar winner Beverly Shaffer and director Ning Zhaoyu
