OTTAWA, Oct. 21, 2013 /CNW/ - The Canadian Network on Corporate Accountability (CNCA) is launching a campaign for legislated access to justice in Canada for persons harmed by the overseas operations of Canadian mining, oil and gas companies.

Commenting on the need for access to justice will be: Alex Neve, Secretary-General of Amnesty International Canada; Valeria Scorza, Deputy Director of the Mexican human rights organization ProDESC; and Rev. Rex Reyes, General Secretary of the National Council of Churches in the Philippines (NCCP). Joining them will be supporters Jennifer Henry of the Canadian faith organization, KAIROS: Canadian Ecumenical Justice Initiatives, and Ken Neumann, Canadian National Director of the United Steelworkers and President of the Steelworkers Humanity Fund.
CNCA is a broad-based coalition of 23 organizations, representing labour, human rights, environmental and faith groups.
