OpenText Freeway Professional Supports Seamless Exchange of Crucial EDI Messages
WATERLOO, Ontario, Oct. 17, 2017 /CNW/ -- OpenText™ (NASDAQ: OTEX, TSX: OTEX), the global leader in Enterprise Information Management (EIM), today announced that Nichirin UK Limited is using OpenText Freeway Professional, part of OpenText Business Network, to help meet partner and customer demand with a stable, reliable, and easy-to-use Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) solution.
Nichirin, a subsidiary of the Japanese Nichrin Group, manufactures and sells automotive hoses to global automotive companies. Many of Nichirin's customers adhere to industry-recognized and individual EDI standards in their supply chain to exchange messages and documents between companies, without manual re-keying of information. To continue to do business with existing customers with increasingly strict quality standards, and to expand its trading partner network and customer base, Nichirin needed a powerful EDI solution that could help meet these demands.
One of Nichirin's largest customers used OpenText as its EDI provider, and recommended the solution to Nichirin. Nichirin ultimately deployed Freeway Professional as an on-premises solution configured for various key EDI message types, including those required to supply its biggest customer, integrating the company seamlessly with Nichirin's bespoke back-office platform. With standard integration formats, Freeway provides a reusable configuration template that can be used to quickly connect future trading partners to Nichirin's network. The ease of use and reliability of the solution has helped Nichirin deliver on time and in quantity to its customers.
"User feedback has been wholly positive. The Freeway Professional screens are intuitive and easy to use," said Richard Nuttall, Senior Plant Manager at Nichirin. "Data comes in and users find it easy to run that data into our other systems. Equally, sending outbound EDI messages is straightforward. You don't need to be an IT specialist to use it, meaning we can concentrate on what we do best."
OpenText Freeway Professional provides a comprehensive audit trail, enabling Nichirin to easily track and resolve any problems that occur in the EDI process and to help meet industry quality standards with confidence. With the solution, Nichirin maintains a single, secure connection to the OpenText Trading Grid™ Messaging Service, reducing the risk of communication errors with partners.
"We know from the positive experience of working with OpenText that, should our customers require any changes to the messaging or labels, OpenText will quickly make those changes, with little or no disruption," said Richard. "Should any of our customers mandate further use of EDI, we will turn to the knowledgeable experts at OpenText once again."
OpenText Freeway Professional is part of the OpenText EIM platform, which is designed to enable organizations to discover and manage information to spur growth and innovation and decrease time to competitive advantage. The platform consists of comprehensive and integrated product solutions including Experience Suite, Business Network, Process Suite, Content Suite, Discovery Suite, and Analytics Suite.
