Nightingale Highlights Success in Canadian EMR Market with North Burlington
Medical Centre Successful Implementation
Customer Benefits from Comprehensive Customer Success Program called The Nightingale Promise
MARKHAM, ON, March 16 /CNW/ - Nightingale Informatix Corporation ("Nightingale" or the "Company") (TSX-V: NGH), an application service provider (ASP) of electronic medical record (EMR) software and related services, today announced the successful rollout of its funding eligible Nightingale On Demand EMR in the North Burlington Medical Centre, one of many customers that have benefited from a customer success program called "The Nightingale Promise" that the company has been developing over the last 12 months.
North Burlington Medical Centre is a multi-disciplinary, state of the art, modern medical facility, with over 30 physicians servicing 100,000 patients, which chose the Nightingale ASP platform for its practice management and EMR needs in July of 2009, and went live on the Nightingale On Demand EMR in the fall of 2009.
"The commitment that Nightingale showed was a really pleasant surprise," says Dr. Harpal Singh of the North Burlington Medical Centre. "The Nightingale team was there for us when we were designing the clinic and they have stayed by our side right through the process and after we went live."
"Nightingale has been listening to what the EMR industry and physicians have been telling us," said Sam Chebib, President and CEO of Nightingale. "Beyond having great technology, customers are looking for an EMR vendor that is committed to their successful implementation and adoption. We decided to reevaluate everything we do with a goal of delivering a comprehensive program entirely focused on customer success. That has become the Nightingale Promise, and we are gratified that North Burlington and so many other customers are benefiting from those efforts."
The Nightingale Promise is a comprehensive program of commitments and services that the company has implemented to ensure doctors and their staff have a successful EMR transition and positive experience with Nightingale. The Nightingale Promise is backed up by a highly evolved training program that allows customers to continue training as long as they wish, a commitment to Fanatical Customer Service including a live answer on every customer support phone call. Additionally Nightingale charges no hidden fees, upgrades and back-ups are included and automatic and much more.
Soon after selecting Nightingale in July 2009 they began to experience each aspect of The Nightingale Promise as they moved from training and rollout of the system right through to adoption and making it part of each aspect of their operation. The Nightingale team worked closely with the doctors and clinic staff to deliver a training and implementation program that suited them best.
"As a walk in clinic we have certain unique needs that Nightingale was quick to understand," continues Dr. Singh. "They configured the workflow for the walk in, and for the many different doctors at different stages of their careers and different levels of computer skill. Nightingale understands these sorts of challenges and has been extremely supportive through our transition."
Nightingale On Demand is now the core scheduling, billing and record keeping system for more than 30 full and part-time physicians as well as allied health workers and support staff at the North Burlington Medical Clinic as they provide family practice, pediatrics and walk-in (urgent care) medical services with over 100,000 patients visits per year.
"When they said they were going to do something they did it - every time. I expected the support to drop off after we finished the implementation, but Nightingale's post implementation support is really what sets them apart. It really alleviates any apprehension when they keep coming to the clinic to make sure we are comfortable with our transition and to provide advice on how to best take advantage of the EMR."
The fact that Nightingale On Demand EMR is an ASP or hosted system takes a whole level of complexity out of the equation. "Doctors aren't IT specialists so we don't want to worry about managing IT systems. We have always been able to rely on Nightingale to manage all that for us," added Dr. Judy van Stralen, a pediatrician and long time Nightingale customer in Ottawa. "Nightingale is there for me whenever I need something, regardless of the importance of the issue. Their responsiveness and turn-around time is exceptional."
As the industry moves toward mainstream adoption, the Nightingale Promise also includes a commitment to work with physicians who are less technically savvy to help them adopt to an EMR at their pace and comfort level to provide them with multiple ways to get documentation into the system beyond typing, including pen tablets and a unique dictation option that is much more powerful than voice recognition software.
"The EMR industry is still young and evolving rapidly, but we are committed to providing a great experience for our customers, added Mr. Chebib. "A successful transitioning to EMR requires a total dedication from your EMR vendor. Doctors should know that Nightingale will be with them every step of the way."
