Nightingale Signs Agreement with AIM Health Group, One of Canada's Leading
Healthcare Providers
Company's enterprise EMR and business management solution, Nightingale On Demand, to support 150 healthcare professionals across Canada
MARKHAM, ON, Aug. 12 /CNW/ - Nightingale Informatix Corporation (TSX-V: NGH) ("Nightingale" or the "Company"), an application service provider (ASP) of electronic medical record (EMR) software and related services today announces that it has signed a five-year agreement with the AIM Health Group (TSX-V: AHG) ("AIM") to provide AIM's family practice, walk-in and pain management clinics with Nightingale On Demand, the Company's enterprise EMR and practice management solution.
"This contract win is a testament to the unique capabilities and functionality of our enterprise EMR and practice management solution," said Sam Chebib, President & CEO of Nightingale. "The Canadian enterprise healthcare industry continues to represent a sizable opportunity for us, and we believe partnering with leading player, AIM, significantly strengthens our market position. We look forward to working with the AIM team to help them set a new standard for the delivery of healthcare in Canada."
AIM Health Group, which operates the largest independently owned and operated group of medically-based Health and Wellness Centres in Ontario, has selected Nightingale On Demand as its exclusive practice management and EMR provider. Through this agreement, Nightingale will support AIM's 150 healthcare professionals who conduct more than 1.5 million patient visits across its clinics each year. Patients will also be offered Nightingale's integrated patient portal, which provides them access to their personal health record (PHR) acting as a health management tool.
"We are committed to maintaining a patient-centric continuum of care whereby our patients' health information is shared seamlessly by all of our healthcare providers," said Dr. Lu Barbuto, CEO of AIM Health Group. "With our providers being actively involved with patients, addressing a range of issues related to prevention as well as illness, it was critical to us to find a secure, web-based solution capable of enhancing our business and clinical operations. Nightingale On Demand, with its integrated patient portal, is a building block for AIM to leverage technology to service a broader health consumer market and to serve as a platform for data mining to facilitate an even higher level of patient care. Implementing the Nightingale On Demand solution across all of our clinics is an important step in strengthening our position as Canada's leader in community-based outpatient healthcare. We believe it will deliver tangible cost efficiencies, enhance our patient services and enable us to provide added value for preventative care."
Nightingale On Demand is a true web-native system that offers enterprise-wide, fully automated practice management capabilities for billing, scheduling and other administrative functions necessary for managing a full spectrum of patient care. The Nightingale solution is eligible for funding for qualified Ontario physicians that are part of the AIM Group. AIM Healthcare Centres deliver services through a combined public and private structure. The centralized practice management capabilities with Nightingale On Demand will enable AIM to efficiently manage both private billings and services covered by provincial health agencies that are delivered across all clinics.
AIM will realize further cost efficiencies with Nightingale's ASP practice management and EMR system that would not be possible with a local client server (LCS) solution. Access to Nightingale On Demand requires only an internet connection and therefore does not require the costly installation of servers at each clinic location. The web-native solution also provides a seamless exchange of information among healthcare providers and staff across all clinics. Nightingale also guarantees unlimited 24-hour support, meaning that internal client resources are not necessary to manage IT issues. Further, AIM will receive system updates and file backups at no additional cost; as such each clinic will always operate on the most current version of Nightingale On Demand.
Under the terms of the five-year agreement, AIM will pay for all training and implementation services and an agreed upon variable monthly transaction fee measured by the number of patient visits.
