"CTV is home to Canada's most-watched returning comedies and laugh-out-loud new recruits," said Phil King, President, CTV Programming and Sports. "With a hilarious blend of edgy, family, and relationship comedy, there's something for everyone in CTV's comedy line-up."
On Tuesday Sept. 11, viewers were treated to the start of yet another powerful comedy block with the timeslot premiere of an encore of the pilot of Charlie Sheen's ANGER MANAGEMENT (9 p.m. ET/PT) launching into a new episode of critically-acclaimed comedy THE NEW NORMAL (9:30 p.m. ET/PT), about a long-term gay couple Bryan (Andrew Rannells) and David (Justin Bartha) who look to create a new family with Goldie (Georgia King), a single mother as their surrogate.
After taking the crown as last year's most-watched new comedy series, Season 2 of WHITNEY, starring primetime darling Whitney Cummings, debuts Saturdays at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT, beginning Oct. 20 on CTV. This season sees Whitney and Alex (Chris D'Elia) looking to keep the magic of their non-wedded bliss alive.
Over on CTV Two, the laughter continues when must-see hit UP ALL NIGHT (Sundays at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT), starring Christina Applegate as Reagan and Will Arnett as Chris, returns for a second season on Sunday, Sept. 23. Regan takes over as stay-at-home parent while Chris ventures back out into the working world, in a role switch that is sure to turn up the laughs. Joining them the following week (Sept. 30) are newlyweds MIKE & MOLLY (Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT) played by Emmy®-Award winning actress Melissa McCarthy and Billy Gardell. First comes marriage, next comes baby, as Mike and Molly navigate the tension of planning for their future.
Also new on CTV, THE NEIGHBORS joins the schedule, Saturdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT, beginning Sept. 29. Tagged early by Entertainment Weekly and TV Feeds My Family as one to watch, the anything but ordinary comedy stars Jami Gertz and Lenny Venito as a couple who buy a new home in a coveted gated community. This new series tests the limits of hilarity when they come to discover that their neighbours are aliens masquerading as suburbanites.
