Nobel Laureate to speak at Concordia about Peace
MONTREAL, Feb. 19 /CNW Telbec/ - The Concordia Student Union, CSU, will be hosting the 2003 Nobel Peace Prize winner, Shirin Ebadi of Iran on March 10, 2010 at 5pm. This lecture is part of the annual Speaker series that have brought other notable speakers like Dr. Wangari Maathai, David Suzuki, Al Sharpton, Spike Lee among others.
Shirin Ebadi's lecture is part of this year's Women's Week celebration in March. The theme for the lecture is "Women, Peace and Iran", which will be followed by a Q & A session. She will be speaking in H 110, 1455 de Maisonneuve West.
"In celebrating women on campus and the world over, we are proud to have Dr. Ebadi speak to our students on her many years for fighting for women rights in Iran and beyond", says the CSU president Amine Dabchy.
