Nobel Peace Laureate to speak at Concordia
MONTREAL, Oct. 18 /CNW Telbec/ - The Concordia Student Union, CSU, will be hosting the 1986 Nobel Peace Prize winner, Elie Wiesel from Boston on October 19, 2010 at 5pm.
This lecture is part of the bi-annual Speaker Series the CSU organized for the Concordia community. Past events have brought keynote speakers such as Wangari Maathai, David Suzuki, Al Sharpton, Spike Lee, Shirin Ebadi and much more.
Elie Wiesel's lecture is part of this year's Peace Week commemoration on campus. He will be speaking of his own experience and share his message to Concordia students, which will be followed by a Q & A session. He will be speaking at Concordia University's auditorium, H-110, 1455 de Maisonneuve West.
"In promoting peace on campus and the world over, Dr. Wiesel is an ideal messenger to our students on his many years of advocating for serenity, human dignity and what got him there; we are proud to have him speak at Concordia", said the CSU president Heather Lucas.
