Nomad Ventures Inc. Appoints Matt Kokan As New Director

VANCOUVER, Sept. 16, 2014 /CNW/ - Nomad Ventures Inc. ("the Company") ("Nomad") (TSX-V: NMD) is very pleased to announce that Matt Kokan, M.A.Sc., P.Eng. has been appointed as a member of Nomad's Board of Directors.
Mr. Kokan is both owner and principal of GeoPacific Consultants Ltd. Matt joined GeoPacific in 1993 as a young engineer and since has grown the firm to include two offices, 40 staff and a testing laboratory.
Matt received a Bachelor of Applied Science in Geological Engineering in 1990 from the University of British Columbia. While working as a geotechnical engineer for ConeTec, Matt received his Master of Applied Science in Civil Engineering in 1992. Matt is a professional engineer and is registered in British Columbia, Alberta, and Ontario. He is also a member of the Vancouver Geotechnical Society, Deep Foundations Institute, and International Society for Micropiles.
With close to 5000 projects under his direction, Matt has a wealth of management and geotechnical engineering experience across the Lower Mainland, BC, Alberta, Ontario, Washington, and California. Some of his most notable projects include the deepest excavation in Vancouver history The Shangri-La, The Wall Centre, The Canada Line shoring design and 2010 Olympic Village. GeoPacific has also been involved in the design for the temporary shoring for the Sea to Sky Highway, Port Mann Bridge, and most recently the South Fraser Perimeter Road. Matt has been involved in numerous building restoration projects, particularly the Downtown Vancouver core.
Matt has had extensive experience in a number of geotechnical engineering areas. His projects have included analysis and design for commercial, residential, industrial and infrastructure projects. Matt has significant expertise in infrastructure works, designs of pile supported buildings on soft ground, excavation and shoring system designs, offshore structure foundation design and evaluation, arenas, slope stability, environmental project assistance, and offshore drilling and testing. His expertise in pile loading and jet grouting has been widely recognized both nationally and internationally through paper presentations.
