VANCOUVER, April 2, 2012 /CNW/ - Nomad Ventures Inc. ("Nomad") is pleased to provide an overview of Nomad's newly optioned Tulameen Mountain silver property in British Columbia (the "Tulameen Mountain Silver Property").
Tulameen Mountain Silver Property
The 946 hectare Tulameen Mountain Silver Property is located 35 kilometres west of the town of Tulameen in the Similkameen Mining District. Contiguous to the Tulameen Mountain Silver Property is Huldra Silver Inc.'s Treasure Mountain Property (total vein indicated resource of 33,000 tonnes, with a 10 oz/t Ag cutoff, at 24.2 oz/t Ag and total vein inferred resource of 120,000 tonnes, with a 10 oz/t Ag cutoff , at 27 oz/t Ag) and is located approximately 1 kilometre south of the historic Treasure Mountain Silver Mine, which has periodically produced silver from lead and zinc sulfides in complex veins lodged in faults and fractures. Nomad has not verified the information on the Treasure Mountain Property and it is not necessarily indicative of mineralization on the Tulameen Mountain Silver Property.
The Tulameen Mountain claims are underlain by marine sediments of the Jurassic Dewdney Creek Group and Cretaceous Pasayten Formation, here intruded by a granitic stock of Eocene age and basic dykes. These sediments are the same formations hosting the known mineral occurrences in the region, as structurally controlled veins.
In 2008, Silver Fields Resources carried out an exploration program, collecting and analysing 320 soil and silt samples. An area showing anomalous gold, silver and base metals in soils on strike from the Treasure Mountain Silver Mine was prospected, mapped and sampled in detail during the 2008 season. Favorable results were obtained by Silver Fields on the northern border of the Tulameen Mountain Silver Property
2012 Exploration Program
The 2012 exploration program, scheduled to commence in early June, will consist of additional soil sampling and a VLF-EM survey program aimed at defining trenching and drill targets on the northern border of the Tulameen Mountain Silver Property
