TORONTO, Sept. 22 /CNW/ - YWCA Toronto is currently accepting nominations for the 2011 YWCA Women of Distinction Awards. The Awards recognize women who have improved the lives of women and girls in Toronto, Canada and the world.
YWCA Toronto is pleased to announce that TD is the 2011 YWCA Women of Distinction Awards Nominations Sponsor.

The YWCA Woman of Distinction Award has been bestowed upon acknowledged leaders as well as up-and-comers. Past recipients of the YWCA Women of Distinction Award include internationally acclaimed film maker Deepa Mehta, youth activist Jessica Yee, former Member of Parliament Jean Augustine, singer and health activist Sharon Hampson, business leader Jane Allen and community leader Angela Robertson.
YWCA Toronto encourages nominations from all communities, professions and sectors. The Young Woman of Distinction (for women 16 to 30 years of age) also receives a $3000 grant from the YWCA Julia M. Ruby Fund.

The YWCA Women of Distinction Awards, presented by Sun Life Financial, will take place on May 18, 2011.
