TSX-V: SKY
VANCOUVER, Oct. 20 /CNW/ - Stikine Energy Corp. (TSX.V: SKY) ("Stikine") announces that Sepro Mineral Systems Corp. of Langley, B.C. has completed assembly, wiring and plumbing of major components of the pilot plant, located in Abbotsford, BC. Delays in shipping from one of the equipment suppliers has resulted in a delay of commissioning the plant, now planned for October 25, 2010.
The Nonda sample material was shipped from its storage site in northern BC to the pilot plant site between Oct 5th and 15th. A total of approximately 430 tonnes of Nonda quartz-pure arenite was crushed on Oct 16th, and then stockpiled on a purpose-built storage pad to prevent contamination. Photographs of the Nonda project site, various field activities and the pilot plant construction can be viewed at www.stikineenergy.com.
Stikine is focused on becoming a dominant frac sand supplier to British Columbia's developing shale gas industry. The Horn River, Liard and Montney Basins are dominated by major gas producers who currently rely on frac sand transported over great distances. Stikine's Nonda project is located in close proximity to the Horn River and Liard Basins and the Angus project lies in close proximity to the Montney Basin.
