North American Marketing Campaign for Clipstream® Cross-Platform Playerless Streaming Video Solution Begins this Week
VANCOUVER, Feb. 25, 2014 /CNW/ - Destiny Media Technologies (TSXV: DSY) (OTCQX: DSNY) announced the first of a series of marketing initiatives for its new disruptive Clipstream® streaming video technology.
The campaigns will highlight two streaming video ads describing Destiny's Clipstream® video cloud service. The video ads will play in the Clipstream® format across the front pages of a number of web developer and streaming media properties.
The initial ads will target partners in the web developer and streaming media space. The Company intends to expand advertising to websites in other verticals, including market research, advertising, web hosting and large corporate websites. When foreign language translations of the software are complete, the solution will also be marketed to non English speaking sites in international markets.
These ads in the new Clipstream® format are compliant with Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) standards and are integrated with Google Doubleclick and Google Ad Manager. The ad serves as a proof of concept for other advertisers that may want to reach a larger cross-platform audience with a single video format.
The initial campaign is scheduled to deliver over three quarters of a million impressions. Destiny is working with Quinstreet Enterprise to reach web developers through IT Business Edge, Ziff Davis Enterprise, Internet.com and Developer.com. According to Quinstreet, its network of forty sites reaches sixteen million unique visitors per month. Destiny is also partnering with Streamingmedia.com, which reaches 1.3 million unique visitors annually. Typical site visitors are C-level decision makers, representing companies with an average of 1,500 employees all which have absolute qualified budgets for online video products and services.
The ads will initially run across the front pages of the following properties: http://www.webdeveloper.com, http://www.developer.com, http://www.devx.com, http://www.codeguru.com, http://www.htmlgoodies.com, http://www.flashkit.com and two e-newsletters for new web development technologies.
"Our initial targets are broad-based content providers, including advertising agencies, marketing professionals and web developers. The technology works well and there is a clear value proposition for our customers to get a much simpler solution, which costs less and provides much higher value," said Steve Vestergaard, Chief Executive Officer of Destiny Media Technologies. "We are excited to begin exposing our proprietary and disruptive technology to a much wider audience."
Clipstream® is the only streaming technology that will play cross-platform without transcoding. Coming versions will also feature extensive security features and interactivity, not available in HTML 5 video streaming formats. Unlike other technologies which are continuously being updated, Clipstream® encoded video will play into the future without re-encoding.
The Clipstream® solution is completely automated. With the tagline "Drag, drop, done", customers are able to self-serve to create their own Clipstream® videos with a simple uploader tool. This tool delivers a video, which "plays everwhere" including devices such as TV's and e-readers where competitive technologies don't play well.
