Super Bowl ad promises BIG goal celebrations come September
TORONTO, Feb. 3, 2016 /CNW/ - Hockey is Canada's game and with the world stage heading to our backyard, Budweiser Canada wants to ensure that goal celebrations are bigger than ever. Debuting this Sunday during Super Bowl 50, Budweiser will be introducing the country to Canada's Goal Light, a 20-foot fully functioning, goal synced Budweiser Red Light.
The ad depicts the arduous journey of Canada's Goal Light as it heads for the North Pole where it will stand prominently as a beacon this September claiming hockey as Canada's game. Standing two storeys high with a metal and fiberglass composition, Canada's Goal Light has been built to endure temperatures of below 40 degrees and 120 miles per hour arctic winds so that no matter what, Canadian goal celebrations will light up the top of the world.
"Over the years, we have brought goal celebrations to Canadians with the game-synced Budweiser Red Light and this September, when Canada will be defending world title, we plan to make goal celebrations even bigger," said Andrew Oosterhuis, Director, Budweiser Canada. "Canada's Goal Light will be lighting up the world in support of Canada, along with thousands of Budweiser Red Light owners."
Before Canada's Goal Light heads for the North Pole, Budweiser will be bringing this symbol of Canadian hockey pride to die hard fans across the country. Beginning February 25, Canada's Goal Light will be making its first stop in Plaster Rock, New Brunswick at the World Pond Hockey Championships where Budweiser will give the light an epic send off. Canadians are encouraged to visit Budweiser.ca/CanadasGoalLight to join the journey and find out when Canada's Goal Light will be visiting a city near them.
The 'Canada's Goal Light' ad will air during Super Bowl 50 on February 7 and can be viewed at the link below in advance of Sunday's game: https://youtu.be/xWbxxy9GKy4
