North Hill Centre celebrates the Paralympics
CALGARY, March 18 /CNW/ - The Olympics aren't quite over yet! The 2010 Paralympic Winter Games take place from March 12 to 21, and North Hill Centre is gearing up for a celebration to raise awareness and donations for our Canadian Paralympic athletes with a special event on Saturday, March 20 from 10 am to 5 pm.
This national Bentall fundraiser could reach a combined donation to the Canadian Paralympic Committee of approximately $75,000 and North Hill Centre's contribution could reach as high as $7,500.
This family-friendly event will feature face painting, balloon artists, popcorn, and more for the young and young at heart. Additionally, a silent auction from noon to 2 pm with an assortment of interesting items including merchant donations and surprise grab bags will be set up to benefit the Canadian Paralympic athletes.
Special appearances and an autograph session with Calgary Stampeders Randy Chevrier No.56 and Burke Dales No.16 from noon to 2 pm will be a highlight for many sports enthusiasts.
We invite Calgarians to join us on Saturday, March 20 to join in the party and show their support!
North Hill Centre is also giving shoppers a final chance to win a big-screen TV once the games are over. A special Olympic and Paralympic viewing station has been set up in the centre since the start of the Winter Games and you can join us Saturday to watch the Sledge Hockey match.
"Community is important," says Paula Lee, North Hill's Marketing Director. "We hope that we can pull everyone together for this great event, increase awareness, raise some money and have a great time in the process!"
