Industry Award Win
- International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) Honours Hands Up Canada campaign with a GOLD Maple Leaf Award -
CALGARY, Oct. 13 /CNW/ - North Hill Centre, a leading retail centre serving the Calgary region, has won a coveted Canadian Maple Leaf GOLD Award from the ICSC for excellence in cause related marketing. The ICSC Canadian Shopping Centre Awards are designed to honour the industry's best and brightest and were presented on October 6th at the ICSC annual awards gala and dinner held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. North Hill Centre's Hands Up Canada project was created to Nationally support our Canadian Paralympic athletes as they competed in the 2010 Paralympic Games. The campaign's objectives included fundraising, education of our Canadian communities on Paralympic sport and generating support for our national athletes.
"We are honored and very proud to be acknowledged by industry peers," says Bonney Rempel, Bentall LP, Regional Director Marketing, West.
The "Hands Up Canada" campaign originally featured 12 shopping centres, which grew in support to 30 Bentall LP managed centres across Canada. School outreach programs educated 10,134 Canadian children on Paralympic sport. Awareness stretched beyond the shopping centres as our visual displays are now on exhibit at both the BC and Alberta Sports Halls of Fame. Our handsupcanada.com website was a key marketing vehicle for public awareness and communication and received over 80,800 visits. Bentall employees united to drive grassroots awareness and additional fundraising dollars raising a total amount of $85,000 surpassing our original goal by 240%!
Now in its 26th year, the celebrated ICSC awards gala also offers insight to the entire industry on what it takes to achieve the highest levels of accomplishment and success in Canadian retail marketing and design.
