WATERLOO, ON, Dec. 5, 2015 /CNW/ - Crawford Class Action Services reports that the Supreme Court of British Columbia has required that notice of a certified class action against GlaxoSmithKline Inc. ("GlaxoSmithKline") be provided and has confirmed that an opt-in and opt-out deadline of April 4, 2016 applies for individuals wishing to participate. The class action was commenced in British Columbia in 2008 against GlaxoSmithKline as the manufacturer of the antidepressant called Paxil. The lawsuit alleged that ingestion of Paxil during pregnancy caused cardiovascular birth defects in newborns. The class action was certified on behalf of a National Class across Canada.
