MONTREAL, Oct. 2, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - The World Social Forum 2016 (WSF 2016) Collective invites media representatives to the press conference for the official launch of the World Social Forum 2016.
Between 50,000 and 80,000 people, coming from nearly 5,000 organizations representing 140 countries, are expected to be in downtown Montreal for this major event from August 9-14, 2016. The World Social Forum is an international collaborative process which gathers activists from around the globe who are dedicated to building a sustainable and inclusive world, where every voice has the opportunity to be heard. The WSF provides an open meeting place for diverse issues, the democratic discussion of ideas, the free exchange of experiences and initiatives, and the development of alternative proposals for a better world.
Carminda Mac Lorin and Raphaël Canet, co-coordinators of the WSF 2016 Collective, and Chico Whitaker, co-founder of the WSF, Monique Vallée, member of the executive committee of Ville de Montréal, Head of Social Development, Communal and Homelessness, Shannon Chief, Wolf Clan of ANORW (Algonquine Nation of the Ottawa River Watershed), as well as representatives from several partner organizations, will be available to respond to your questions.
