WENDAKE, QC, Sept. 19 /CNW Telbec/ - The Assembly of First Nations of Quebec and Labrador (AFNQL) wishes to inform the media that Chief Ghislain Picard will be taking part in numerous activities scheduled for the week of action on education, which will take place between September 19 and September 23, 2010.
He will begin the week in Kitigan Zibi, Quebec at the departure of the march that starts on September 19, after which he will attend the representation in Ottawa on September 21 and the major assembly that is being organized to welcome the arrival of the marchers on Parliament Hill in Ottawa next Thursday, September 23, 2010.
The goal of the week of action on education is to denounce discrimination against First Nations' children in the education sector, since the federal government is threatening to cancel the post-secondary study assistance program. Chief Picard supports all of the actions taking place all across Canada in addition to the actions being organized on Parliament Hill in Ottawa.
