Canadians can now use Visa cards at Tim Hortons restaurants and Visa Debit online at www.timhortons.com
TORONTO, May 15, 2012 /CNW/ - Visa and Tim Hortons are pleased to announce that starting today, Canadians can use Visa credit and prepaid cards to purchase coffee, breakfast, lunch or other menu items in restaurant and at the drive-thru, at any of Tim Hortons' more than 3,300 locations across Canada.
The relationship brings together Canada's biggest payment brand with Canada's most popular and largest quick service restaurant chain, providing consumers with greater choice in payment options at point of sale in addition to the speed and security Visa is known for. Tim Card cardholders may also use either Visa or Visa Debit to reload their balance online at www.timhortons.com, with Visa Debit being the ideal choice for those consumers who wish to make online purchases using funds drawn directly from an existing bank account.
"We're excited to be bringing the convenience, speed and security of Visa payments to Tim Hortons restaurants across the country," said Jim Allhusen, Country Manager, Visa Canada. "Having Canada's most popular restaurant chain accept Visa reinforces the tremendous value that comes with Visa acceptance, while meeting consumer demand for payment choice at the register."
"Tim Hortons is pleased to align with Visa to offer our guests the convenience of using their Visa card to pay for purchases in our restaurants or on our website," said Roland Walton, Chief Operations Officer, Tim Hortons. "We are committed to providing our valued guests with a wide variety of delicious menu selections and with the addition of Visa, we can now offer them an even wider variety of payment options too."
To celebrate this announcement, Visa is offering Canadians the chance to win a dream cottage getaway for an entire season. From June 28 to August 15, 2012, Visa cardholders will be automatically entered into a draw for this once-in-a-lifetime summer cottage getaway experience simply by using their Visa to pay for purchases at Tim Hortons.
