HALIFAX, May 16, 2014 /CNW/ - The Nova Scotia Teachers Union is holding its 93rdAnnual Council starting this evening through to Sunday, May 18 at the Marriott Harbourfront Hotel in Halifax.
Approximately 400 voting delegates, alternate delegates, visitors and guests will attend Council sessions, which start at 7:30 p.m. tonight.
Friday evening, The Honourable Karen Casey, Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development will bring greetings and on Saturday, Canadian Teachers' Federation President, Dianne Woloschuk will address delegates.
Saturday sessions are scheduled from 8:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Sunday sessions begin at 9:00 a.m. to conclude by approximately 12:00 p.m.
Note to editors/reporters:
a) | As is customary, Council sessions will be closed to non-NSTU members for the presentation of the NSTU financial package and discussion of costed and economic welfare resolutions. The adoption of the budget will take place during a closed session starting on Sunday at 9:30 a.m. |
